Mobile Support

SOS employs and trains Associate Therapists who work on the Sonoma County Mobile Support Team (MST). Established in 2010 the Mobile Support Team is a program developed by Sonoma County to address the growing need for mobile crisis intervention within our community. SOS MST Interns, are trained in crisis assessment and intervention and can place 5150 holds. They are called on Police calls when the issue is mental health related and work to deescalate, intervene and asses individuals having mental health crisis. The Mobile Support Team follows up with individuals and their families when the crisis is over.

Mobile Support Team works to:

  • Promote the safety and emotional stability of community members experiencing behavioral health crisis
  • Minimize further deterioration of community members experiencing behavioral health crisis
  • Help community members experiencing crisis to obtain ongoing care and treatment
  • Prevent placement in settings that are more intensive, costly, or restrictive than necessary and appropriate
  • Participate and collaborate with law enforcement during regularly scheduled briefings
