Schools Based Counseling
SOS has partnered with five Sonoma County School Districts, the Sonoma County Office of Education, and generous donors to provide mental health prevention and early intervention services to the each whole school community.
Team Success
Our team of counselors become a part of the school community by providing activities promoting mental health in classrooms, to teachers and parents, through school wide awareness events, and interactive clubs and activities for students. Students come to our counselors through self-referral or are referred from school administration, teachers, and parents and are screened for mental health and other needs. Students and parents are assisted in accesses additional resources on and off campus from some of our partner agencies.
Sonoma County Office of Education Partnership
SOS Counselors provide mental health counseling to the Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE) alternative school, Amarosa Academy. Here our counselors meet with youth who have been expelled, are returning to main stream after suspension, expulsion, time in the Juvenile Justice Center, or who are pregnant, teen parents or who otherwise cannot attend main stream high school.
